AEM water electrolyzer is mainly composed of anion exchange membranes (AEMs), catalyst layer (CL) and gas diffusion layer (gas diffusion layer). GDL) and bipolar plate (BP) and other seal combination.

Working principle: Similar to other electrolytic water hydrogen production principles, it involves two half reactions: oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Using pure water or low-concentration alkaline solution as the electrolyte, generally driven by 1.8 ~ 2.5V voltage, the electrolytic device breaks down water in an electrochemical manner and produces oxygen and hydrogen. Key to the technology is the anion exchange membrane, which transfers OH− from the cathode to the anode while blocking the direct transfer of gases and electrons between the electrodes.
